Your First Visit
Your first visit to our office is a complimentary consultation. Plan on spending approximately 1 hour with us for this visit. At this time, Dr. Winnard will determine your orthodontic problems and make treatment recommendations based upon his evaluation. In some cases, a “panorex” x-ray may be required in order to make the proper diagnosis and treatment decisions. If you have access to a recent (less then I year old) x-ray, please bring it along with you.
Also at this visit, out treatment coordinator will help you understand Dr. Winnard’s treatment plan(s) and present you with several financial options. We will try to determine your insurance benefits prior to your visit and will incorporate any benefit into a payment plan for you. Make sure that we answer all your questions before leaving.
Regular Appointments
Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately. Cancel only if it is an emergency. It is difficult to reschedule you since most appointments are made 4 to 8 weeks in advance.
The appointments for the initial placement of your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) are usually one to two hours long. Once you have your braces, Dr. Winnard asks to see you at regular 4-8 week intervals for adjustment of your braces. These visits usually take 20-40 minutes and can usually be made “after school”.
Financial Options
Our office strives to provide you with quality treatment that fits your budget! We offer several payment options in order to make your desired treatment affordable for you. You can choose from interest free “in-house” financing, ChaseHealthAdvance, CareCredit or treatment paid in full by cash, check, or credit card. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. We do offer discounts for treatment paid in full at the start of treatment.
Insurance
We accept most major PPO and traditional dental insurance. If your insurance covers orthodontic treatment, you will receive the benefit of reduced personal cost. Most insurance have a lifetime orthodontic benefit that is separate from regular dental insurance. Once treatment has begun, we will file your claims.
